2019, Acrylic on board, 85x100cm
A sweet sadness descends on this landscape, as the sun sets and the day, finally, comes to an end. This day will regrettably, or perhaps mercifully, slip away into oblivion. The landscape’s beauty is still slightly touched with a lingering weariness and a momentary tranquil harmony pervades the location as the patterns of the sky and the earth seem to align a bit more. In one of his poems, TS Eliot refers to a 'still point', which is a strange moment that is extended in and out of time, and where the paradoxes of life and reality can be reconciled.
