There is a blue light illuminating the painting. It contrasts in a complimentary way. The whitest parts taking on blue hues. I tried to make this one softer. Using more diluted paint. And painting more rounded shapes. And using colours in a narrower range. This flower hits me in a gentle way. From here on I will return to my favored blue Turquoise hues. This flower will be dipped into the river. Conscious/unconscious. Subconscious, submerged. With a more emphasized vertical pattern. I am reading Jon Sheuller’s ’The sound of sleat’. I haven’t looked at any of his paintings yet. I am at the part where he is staying in Paris and has made a painting for a chapel across the road, which he gifted to them, on the passion of the Christ. It sent him on a dark emotional journey as he almost relived the crucifixion, and psychologically placed himself on the cross. It caused friction in his relationships with others. Caused arguments. Which he apologised for later. Before that he spent time in Mallaig, Scotland, where he tells of locals who showed him great favours, like carrying a half a ton coal to his cabin, and mending and sewing his clothes, at no charge. 1957. Different world today. In lieu of this, If you want this painting, I will give it to you, free of charge, let me know.
